Kasperl explains to him that the two women had a quarrel over some plums inside the chest, offers some to the watchman and closes the lid on the unfortunate man who has put his head in it. Then he leaves, announcing that he will throw the chest into the water...

In Florence, Lully, the son of a miller, hides so that he can listen to religious songs. Le Père Cordelier (Father Cordelier) gives him his first music classes. He starts to sing in public with Arlequin and Pantalon. The Chevalier de Guise (Knight of Guise) brings him to France, but he is hired as a kitchen hand for the Grande Mademoiselle (​​Anne Marie Louise d'Orléans, Duchess of Montpensier). The princess escapes to the moon by walking on a ray of moonlight. Her father, King Cyprian XIII, promises a reward for he who can bring her back to earth. Kasperl and Seppl volunteer and leave on a rocket. They find the princess miserable, forced to cook and clean for the Man on the Moon. Thanks to a trap, Kasperl and Seppl succeed in escaping with the princess. The king thanks Kasperl and wants to offer him a gift, but Kasperl is content with a piggybank—he had to break his own to buy the rocket.
